WORLD ECONOMIC FORUm
the challenge
How do you transform conversations once reserved for THE GLOBAL ELITE into storytelling that millions of people genuinely want to watch?
When I joined the World Economic Forum as its founding Head of Video Content, the organization's global mandate was to transform it from an events-based organization into a knowledge-based one and establish it as a world-class digital media platform.
My role was to build the video department from the ground up and develop original editorial formats that could translate the Forum's unparalleled access to world leaders, Nobel laureates, CEOs, scientists and policymakers into compelling storytelling.
By transforming hour-long panels and discussions into engaging, accessible content, I helped bring complex ideas to millions of people around the world, far beyond Davos.
DEVELOPING AN EDITORIAL STRATEGY
Over five and a half years, I led the writing, creative direction and directing of original content across many of the defining issues of our time, including AI, technology, climate, geopolitics, economics, health, cybersecurity, digital identity, sustainability and the future of work.
I developed original editorial formats that transformed hour-long conference sessions into cinematic documentary shorts, using compelling storytelling, motion graphics and elevated production value to make some of the world's most complex ideas accessible to millions across YouTube and social media.
IDEAS @DAVOS
THE CONCEPT
Ideas @Davos was designed to democratize access to conversations that were previously available only to those in the room. By combining thoughtful editorial development with rigorous research, each episode distilled complex subjects into clear, compelling narratives for both specialist and general audiences.
VISUAL APPROACH
The visual approach elevated the traditional interview format through a careful blend of original b-roll, archival material and motion graphics. The goal wasn't simply to illustrate ideas, but to make them easier to understand, remember and connect with.
DISTRIBUTION
To extend the series beyond Davos, I helped establish a distribution partnership with WIRED, bringing the content to a global audience passionate about technology, science and the future. Ideas @Davos went on to become one of the building blocks of the Forum's digital transformation, helping evolve it from an events-based organization into a global storytelling platform.
